Our Approach to Therapy
Healing through authentic connection. Real change rooted in trust, depth, and the wisdom you already carry.
Therapy, at its best, is a relationship. It's not a series of techniques applied to a problem. It's a sacred space — for honesty, for tenderness, for the parts of you that have been waiting to be seen.
At Gather Therapy Collective, our approach is built on this truth: healing happens through authentic human connection. Every modality we draw from, every skill we use, every conversation we hold — it all rests on that foundation.
What Guides Our Work
Relational
The therapeutic relationship itself is the medicine. We show up as full humans, not blank slates — and we trust the relationship between us to be where the deepest healing happens.
Trauma-Informed
We understand that pain often has roots — and we approach every client with sensitivity to their nervous system, their history, and their capacity. Healing happens at the pace of safety.
Depth-Oriented
We don't just want to manage your symptoms. We want to understand where they come from, what they're protecting, and what change at the root could look like.
Strengths-Based
You're not a list of problems. You're a whole person with wisdom, resources, and resilience. Our work draws on what's already inside you, not just what needs healing.
Evidence-Based
Our modalities are grounded in research and clinical evidence — IFS, IFIO, EFT, CPT, DBT, trauma-narrative therapy, and more. We bring real training and skill to the work.
The Modalities We Draw From
Different people need different tools. We integrate several therapeutic approaches based on what each client needs.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
An evidence-based model that works with the different 'parts' of you — the protectors, the wounded parts, the inner critic — to bring healing at the deepest level.
IFIO (Intimacy From the Inside Out)
An IFS-based couples therapy approach that helps partners understand their own internal patterns and bring their truest Self to the relationship.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Working directly with emotions to help process what's been stuck, build emotional awareness, and create new patterns of relating.
CPT / DBT
Practical, evidence-based tools for managing difficult thoughts, regulating emotions, and building skills for daily life.
Trauma-Based Narrative Therapy
A respectful, structured approach to processing trauma and reauthoring your story with new meaning and integration.
Relational, Existential & Solution-Focused
Drawing on multiple traditions to honor the meaning, purpose, and relational dimensions of your life — and to find practical paths forward.
What a Session Looks Like
Every session begins with checking in — what's alive for you today, what you'd like to bring. From there, our work might involve exploring a difficult feeling, working with a part of you, processing a memory, building a skill, or simply being witnessed.
Sessions are 50–60 minutes. There's no formula. We trust the work to unfold, and we trust you to lead the way.

We hold the work with depth, honesty, and respect.
Many therapy practices offer the same modalities listed on a website. What makes us different is the way we hold the work — with depth, honesty, and a profound belief that you already carry the answers you're seeking. Our job is to walk alongside you while you remember who you are.
